Description
ISP Account Sharing
With a single ISP account, your entire network can logon to the
Internet. The device's built-in DHCP server function and Network
Address Translator (NAT) automatically create and assign IP addresses
for all network users, simplifying users' logon operation while saving
you the cost of keeping individual ISP accounts.
ADSL or Cable Broadband Sharing
Your entire network can access the Internet through a single ADSL or
cable connection. Your office needs only one ADSL or cable line,
opened to office workers to logon to the Internet 24 hours a day. The
DI-704P provides a 10BASE-T port for ADSL/cable modem connection.
Protection Against Outsiders
The DI-704P provides 2 levels of security support. First, it masks
your office workers' IP addresses from others on the Internet, making
it more difficult for a hacker to target a computer on your network.
Second, it can block and re-direct certain ports to limit the services that outside users can access.
Virtual Server can be used to re-task services to multiple servers. The DI-704P can be set to allow separate FTP, Web, and Multiplayer game servers to share the same Internet-visible IP address while still
protecting the servers and local users from hackers.
VPN Support
The DI-704P provides special support for common VPN implementations including PPTP (Point to Point Tunneling Porotocol). It supports multiple PPTP sessions and allows setup of VPN server and VPN clients.
User-definable Application Sensing Tunnel
The administrator can define the attributes to support special applications requiring multiple connections, such as Internet gaming, video conferencing, and Internet telephony.
DMZ Host Support
A DMZ setting can be applied to a single client behind the DI-704P to expose it to the Internet and ensure complete Internet application compatibility even if specific ports are not known.
Cost-saving With 4 Built-in Switched Ports
This device comes with 4 built-in 10/100Mbps switched ports, each providing a LAN bandwidth for office workers and game players. This saves you both the cost of purchasing a separate LAN switch and the trouble of installing it.
Built-in Print Server Supporting IP Protocol
You can directly attach a parallel printer to the built-in printer port to share this printer out. Fast Ethernet users can print web pages and other files on this printer.
