§ Frame rate
Most often known as frame per second (FPS), it’s a important measure for video quality and fluency. Human eyes will considered as motion when the frame rate is over 16fps.
So, what is the recommended frame rate? It actually depends on what kind of scenario is been monitoring. Normally, for retail or residential surveillance 1-5 fps will be fine; for parking lot or office entrance it might use 7-15fps; for casino or train station it might require 20-30fps. Of course, higher frame rate require higher storage space.
Below sample video show different frame rate scenario for your reference:
Frame Rate = 1 fps
Frame Rate = 5 fps
Frame Rate = 15 fps
Frame Rate = 30 fps
